Holiday in Retail

So my last blog was November 17th. The start of a wonderful Holiday Season. Well that season is over. I got what I wanted for Christmas, spent time with family and did not have to work on Christmas Day. What more could I ask for? A NEW JOB!!
What a crazy time of year to work in retail. I have been with Walgreens for 3 Christmas Seasons and by far this was the worst of them all. I'm not sure if it was my boss or the customers (Probably my boss), but it was the most tiring part of the my life. One thing retail does is takes away your since of time. Your always planning ahead and so you can never enjoy the present. You spend time with your family and enjoy the time you spent, but then you have to work and that just takes every joyful feeling away. It's not that bad. I just wanted to vent a little. I know that Christmas is about remembering Christ and his birth and I am grateful for that and my job.
Well a lot of other stuff has happened. Robyn and I are still looking forward to our house being finished in March. They have laid the Concrete for the Basement and Driveway. Now this week they are framing. We go by a couple time a week and take a look to see the progress they have made. We are ready to have our very own place. Robyn and here decorating mind are going crazy with ideas and I just excited to be able to find all my stuff once it is unpacked. It's kinda hard living out of boxes. Both Robyn and I are excited for the Shortened Commute we will enjoy every day.
Harley, our 7 Month old dog is doing great. She is big. We gave her a tranquilizer for Christmas Eve, this is because we didn't want her jumping all over people. After that she looked like she got ran over by a car. Her eyes were all saggy and she could barley walk. She did great though. This morning Robyn said to me "I think you have a problem." She informed me that I like Vacuuming too much. It maybe true. Its a stress reliever, but I replied "we have a dog." FYI to all those who desire a large breed dog. Get a Good vacuum!! We have a nice Bissell that works great. I vacuum about every three days and I get a container full of dog hair. Make sure you get a vacuum an attachment that turns your house into a  mini vacuum ( I don't know what it's called). That has been a life saver, especially on couches, and in cars.
Well a new year is coming. So I better end today.

To do or not to do

So I thought I would take the Sunday off from blogging, now it's Thursday, where did the time go! I have been busy with studying for a test that I am aiming to get 90% on. I went to the library a couple nights ago and sat there studying for four hours. I think accumulative that is the most time I have spent in any library in my life. I hope that I do well. The test is for math and everyone that knows me knows that I just adore math. :-) I am going to be studying again tonight for about 2 hours in between my night classes. Fun fun. I signed up for classes for spring semester. I don't know what I'm doing but I signed up for 15 credits and I hope that I am able to do it. I had to promise Robyn that if I didn't feel comfortable with any of the classes that I would drop the worst one. So I may have to pick which one I hate the most.

So I got an email today from the State of Utah. I signed up for these emails about two years ago to be sent to me when UHP jobs open somewhere in the State. Well I guess there is an opening in Utah somewhere. I originally signed up for the email because that was my dream to be in Law Enforcment. I'm even going to school for Criminal Justice. Now I work for Walgreens and they have been treating me well. I know that walgreens will help me provide for my family a lot better than being a UHP Officer. I was suprised that they only start out at 50 cents more than I currently get paid. If I get the promotion I'm looking for in a couple months then I will be making about 10k more a year. Obviously Walgreens is the way to go. It is just crazy the things that happen in your life and the decisions that you have to make in a short period of time. I think it would still be fun to apply. We will see though.

So I went running today for some excercise. I have been feeling lazy and a freind of mine said that he just started working out again because of the lazy feeling. About three months ago I participated and finished a half marathon, but since then I swear I have done nothing to continue to be healthy. So this morning it was fun to go running, I took the dog with me and she probably thought that I was crazy. I did out run the dog so I felt good about myself but my 1 mile time was nothing to brag about (14 min). So I hope that I will continue to run, Get my times better and hopefully find another half marathon to participate in. If anyone knows of one let me know.

Have an awesome day everyone.

The Happy Napper

Well today was an amazing day of great napping. Nothing like getting up at 6 am and then vegging and sleeping off and on all day till work. Today I also set up my blog a little nicer. Added some pics and background. Hope you all like the golf green in the background. I also had help today from friend and idea master Ryan Rowbury. I guess I'm not the only one that had needed help for a blogger name. Tell me what you think of "two greens are better than one."

So as I have mentioned in my profile I work for Walgreens. With retail you have moments where you think to yourself "why am I working here." today I had one of those moments. It was really bad because that thought came to my head right when I walked into the store. Hearing the sound of registers beeping and the front doors sliding just took away every bit of relaxation and energy I had gained from my naps today. All in all work was not too horribly bad. Didn't get yelled at by an irate shopper, and in this economy I have a job. So that's something to be happy about.

I've realized that my dog reminds me of a child. Every night when it's time to go to bed, Harley gets a sense of it and goes and lays on the couch. Well guess what, the couch is not her bed. So every night I go over to the couch and say "Harley kennel." always thinking that will do the trick, but it never does. So a little tug on her caller, she gives me the puppy dog eyes, forces her self off the couch and slowly looking back at me wanders to her kennel. It's like daggers to the heart. Haha. The thing that makes me think of a child the most is that once she's in the bed she didn't want to go to, she falls asleep. Crazy dog.

Well a house update for those interested. We have been having some issues with the ARC (architectural review committee), I guess since we are trying to build a house next to a house that looks exactly the same they didn't like it. Lame right haha. So we had to go back and forth and before Robyn and I knew it the house didn't look the same. Now that's kinda hard when you bought the house for the look. Well we went to Edge homes and met with the owner and worked things out and are now waiting for the city to approve the plans. I'm wondering if the free shirts, water bottles and cupcakes we received just made us go along with whatever they wanted us to do. We did get free shirts though!! Anyways now we are hoping that a hole will be dug in about two weeks. That will be the exciting part.

Well good night blogger.com

Robyn and I's weekend away!!!

I feel so lost when it comes to this blogging thing, but I figured it would be a cool way to save and share the thing in my life. Also I really stink at writing a journal, so I will make sure that blogger.com keeps all my journals from now on. So my name is Scott Green and I have been married to my amazing wife Robyn for a year and almost a half. May 1st of 2010 was the awesome day. I was so happy we got married on that day too because it made it easy for me to remember the anniversary day. Haha. It's been great though. My wife has supported me in anything that I do. I currently work and attend school full-time. I am majoring in Criminal justice at UVU in Orem UT. I work for Walgreens in Saratoga Springs, UT as an Assistant Manager. My wife and I are building a house near there in the city of Eagle Mountain.

Well that last two days have been nice. We moved in with my Mother in law about 2 months ago, bless her heart. We decided that we wanted to build a house and after a tough rental issues we decided that it would be a blessing to move to the in-laws house and save Money. So we did. Well with both my wife any my work and school schedules we don't get much time to see each other. So we knew that we had Thursday and Friday off together. So we decided to go up to Salt Lake City and enjoy a night t the Little America Hotel off of 600 E. It was great, my wife and I have stayed there before and were happy with how pleasant the stay was. We got Costco pizza, a 2 liter of dr. Pepper and rented a movie. It was a very relaxing evening. The next day Robyn coned me into buying her a Christmas gift from DSW while she was there. Tricky tricky. We (I) enjoyed a stroll around the two best stores in Utah, Best Buy and Home Depot. We then went and picked up Harley from the kennel in Draper.

I swear those dogs have way to much fun while at the kennel. I picked her up and payed for her boarding, which by the way is like a fancy hotel stay. I got her into the car and immediately she laid down in the back seat. Now you must know that she is about 5 months old, puppies don't do that unless they are tired. She was passed out. Its like she was partying all night it the other pets there. She ended up sleeping all night long.

We got home and decided that enchiladas were to good to pass up making. So I threw together my enchiladas recipe and had a quaint little dinner. Found out though that the little green chiles in the cans were hot, hot, hot. It was good though. Robyn made an amazing pumpkin pie and we watched heaven only knows what on tv. Now it's off to bed. Good night blogger.com
